The next Black Friday can come! British online retailer Asos was so impressed by the performance of QCS Berlin that they have signed a new two year contract. Asos deliver throughout Europe and mainly target younger customers, between 16 and 34 years old. For some time our Berlin office has had a focus on e-commerce logistics, and has developed new warehousing capacity for this domain. Quick Cargo Berlin currently takes care of Asos deliveries for three destinations: Athens, Larnaca (Cyprus) and Malta.
The following logistical services have been provided:
· Warehouse storage (storing/unloading, scan registration)
· Returns management and disposal logistics
· Order picking (amongst other things, also general cargo to different destinations)
· Packaging services
· Tracking and scan service
· Transport: next day out flights (or quicker possible!), combined road/air transport
One of the most important aspects for continued smooth operation during peak times such as Black Friday is optimised communication, according to branch-office manager Robert Weckwerth, “Continual contact between the online merchant and the logistics service provider should always be ensured, also outside of normal business hours. One should not choose the cheapest provider, but rather the one with the appropriate know how, in order to ultimately achieve the time goals and quality demands that are required. Smooth channels of communication for all involved in the project are the key to success”.
